Environmental Policy

Environmental Policy Summary

 

Enviromental Hygiene is an environmental services company, which provides pest control, hygiene and healthcare services to the domestic, commercial and industrial market.

 

All Enviromental Hygiene contractual customers are supplied with a file containing safety data sheets, pest control registration certificate, a floor plan of their premises, activity reports, etc.

 

Enviromental Hygiene is committed to:

 

  • Preserving the environment and its beings
  • Using products, materials and chemicals that are environmentally friendly and SABS approved
  • Ensuring and implementing safety practices to protect our staff and the public at large

 

Safe storage, handling and discarding of materials.

 

Storage

 

  • Storage facilities are well organized, stacked and ventilated, to ensure safe and friendly conditions
  • Hygiene products, materials, chemicals and equipment are stacked separately, to distinguish them and monitor levels and risk factors
  • To reduce the risk of accidental spillage, Hygiene products are stored in an area with drainage points
  • Pest Control products, materials, chemicals and equipment are stored separately
  • To reduce the risk of accidental spillage, poisoning and other risk factors, Pest control chemicals, are stored in a separate area with drainage points

 

Handling

 

  • All service personnel are continuously trained to safely handle chemicals and material
  • PP Equipment is worn in the storeroom area, while decanting takes place
  • PPE is worn to protect the service person from sustaining burns, inhalation of harmful chemical, while administering/handling or applying chemical
  • Safety measures are applied at the premises of our customers, for their protection

a) Chemicals and materials are tidily and safely stacked inside containers and lockable boxed, at the back of the service vehicle
b) On entering customer premises all chemicals are contained in lockable buckets, to prevent physical and visual contact by our customers.
c) Inside customer premises the lockable buckets are never left unattended, and are carried around by service persons as they perform their duties
d) Chemicals and materials are removed from the service vehicles at the end of each day, and safely returned to the storerooms
e) Chemicals and materials are only administered by trained staff, and is never sold to a customer to be administered by themselves

 

Discarding

 

  • Empty chemical containers, used materials/equipment are discarded in a Skip Waste container on our premises
  • Containers are exchanged at least 2/3 times a per week
  • No chemical containers or any other waste matter is discarded on customer premises
